Biography
Ven. Tapassi Dhamma was born in middle class family at Balambu Kathmandu. He went to Sri Lanka as a Buddhist Novice for further Religious studies in 1984 and back to Nepal in 1991. Ever since, he didn’t only renovate Chabahil Stupa at Chabahil but also protector, preservation and promoter of it. Further, he wishes to renovate neglected over looked Buddhist Stupas in different cities of Nepal.

Ven. Tapassi Dhamma, a young Buddhist monk is not only greatly involving, supporting and providing scholarship for children’s education around Nepal but also has a good relation with international Buddhist and non- Buddhist organizations such as :
 
 
Member of All Nepal Bhikkhu Association,
Patron-member of World Wide Child Care Center Nepal,
Patron-member Dolakha Stupa preservation committee,
Chairman preservation and development committee of Charumati Stupa,
Board vice President and chairman of Nepal Chapter World Buddhist Sangha Youth,
Board member of Sakya Beneficence International Association,
Stupa Onlus Group of Italy etc.
 
 
He also honored and awarded by different national and international organizations for his dedication;
Everest Foundation of Nepal honored National award for social and cultural development 2004,
Jagriti Samaj Nepal awarded ‘National Voluntary Citizen 2003’ on H.M. Queen’s 56 Birthday and National Democratic Day for the establishment of Social, Educational, Environmental & Cultural Development and ‘National People Peace Service Felicitation 2007’ was also awarded by Jagriti Samag Nepal in 2007.
One of the great awards is ‘Great Dhamma Putta Award’ of WBSY by President of Sri Lanka H. E. Mahinda Rajpaksy in 2006.
He also organized different meetings, peace works and seminars, such as Lumbini Peace Pilgrimage in 2001 and internationally participation walking was organized in 2005 (peace walk from Kathmandu to Lumbini about 300 km, which was completed in 25 days.)
He is also regularly participating national and international seminars in different countries;
Ven. Tapassi Dhamma, a tireless spiritual and social worker has traveled extensively around the world with a message of hope for peace in our threatened world. He always raised his voice against all social evils the welfare of the helpless children and society.
